Beginning Lent

As we begin the Lenten season on this Ash Wednesday, we enter more fully into our journey of faith with Jesus. In participating in these Faith practices, we are given a gift that we are called to open and live out daily.

The Word for Wednesday is ENCOURAGE. Here are suggestions to help your practice this gift:

Write words of encouragement or inspirational quotes on sticky notes and ...place them around your house or office for you and others will see that they may bless you.
Some ideas:

§ “Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and lean not on your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”(Proverbs 3:5-6)

§ “I can do all things through the One who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13)

§ “Use me, God. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.” (MLK, jr.)

§ “Everything that seems empty is full of the angels of God” (St. Hilary)

§ “The world will belong tomorrow to those who brought it the greatest hope.” (Teilhard de Chardin)

§ “Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done.” (CS Lewis)

§ “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all.” (Emily Dickinson)

§ “Have patience with all things but first of all with yourself” (St. Francis de Sales)
